Art Every Day Month Day 17 - Beauty

This is one of those days that I wish someone would hurry up and create a smell catcher. For the past week I have noticed so many beautiful aromas. Pulling up my mother driveway I could smell this powerful aroma, it took us a wee while before we could figure it out, it was the grapefruit tree's blossom. I hope you all get the chance to take a deep sniff of these blossoms as they will blow you away. Grapefruit aroma is known for being a powerful purifier. The mandarin and lemon trees are also smelling beautiful! I love citrus! I bought a bag of tangerines yesterday and they are so sweet and juicy. One of my favourite essence oils is neroli it is made from the bitter orange blossom and used as an antidepressant, for calming nerves, chronic diarrhea, and on dry skin or broken veins. I love this time of the year!
In my mother in-laws garden there are perfect red roses with another beautiful aroma. I was lucky to take half a dozen home last weekend, our house has been smelling like roses, excuse the pun. Rose are known as the love scent it is used to attract love, confer peace, an aphrodisiac, and enhance beauty.

I took some photos of the roses yesterday, they are not very good photos cause they are half dead and the sun was too bright....

I have also noticed that all of the rhododendron flowers out in full bloom! We have a few in our garden and it seems like on every street in Wanganui people have the beautiful purple flower, the only colour we don't have. I will try and get some photos today.

The Youtube clip for the day is a beautiful clip of FLOWERS IN GROWTH

Here are some of my flower inspired paintings

My card for the day is CELEBRATION

it said....good news, cause for a happy celebration. Time to enjoy your fruits of labour. This is a light filled time of your life. You have been working hard toward making changes in your life. Your intentions (goals) are in sight for you. Fill your heart with love and thanks. You are like a gardener who plants seeds and nurtures them because they have faith that their labour will yield new growth. You are doing great work.

As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. THREE - Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. FOUR -  When you say, "I love you," mean it. FIVE - When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. SIX - Be engaged at least six months before you get married. SEVEN - Believe in love at first sight. EIGHT - Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. NINE - Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. TEN - In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. ELEVEN - Don't judge people by their relatives. I Wanted to Be an Artist, So I Quit My Job and Became One

I had to share this article with you today, if I wrote something like this it would sound just the same... I Wanted to Be an Artist, So I Quit My Job and Became One by Christopher Fife. "Hi, I'm Christopher. I'm an artist." Exhale, run my fingers through my hair. "What do I do? Oh, I paint. I'm a painter. Yeah, I'm an artist." I tried it out every now and then, in front of the bathroom mirror. It sounded all right. But when I introduced myself as an artist outside my bathroom world of make-believe, I always felt false. I was like Magritte labeling a pipe. If I said I was an artist, I was an artist, right? Not exactly. Since I dedicated forty-plus hours a week to my corporate graphic design job, I was lucky if I painted a couple of hours a week. I came to despise myself for this self-deceit, for my inability to embrace what I really wanted to be. I wanted to be an artist. So I committed myself to becoming one. I started out like most people ...
