Jumping at every opportunity

We have been down at Raumati Beach for a couple of nights. It was so good to get away and unwind. Poor little Maddy got really sick, so we didn't get to do all the things planned, all I can say is thank God I packed the Pamol! Mum and Vic took us to an amazing spot right in the beach here are some photos.

Raumati Beach

I am organising a picnic in the park for Wanganui artist to trade their Artist Trading Cards Friday 10th Dec at 12:30pm click here for more details.

I am also hosting an online Art Marketing Salon for all artists in Jan 2011 click here for more details.

My tip for the day is about jumping at every opportunity.  You don't have to say yes to everything. In fact, sometimes, saying no to something can be more beneficial to your career than saying yes.
Take a look at your standards and make sure they’re high enough. There are some exhibitions that just aren't worth joining. There are some connections that just aren't worth developing.
When you say yes to something, especially something that takes your time, you're likely saying no to a host of other things by default. Leave yourself open to saying yes to the opportunities that really matter.
Trust your own judgment. If something doesn't feel right and you want to say no, it's okay. At that moment, you may worry you're passing up a great opportunity and will be missing out. The reality is better opportunities (that are a better fit for you) will come if you are open and ready for them.

The Youtube clip for the day is Screentalk interview with Antony Starr

He told me in 2001 that he was a skateboarder that likes to act.

My card for the day is ROMANCE
it said...the angels have heard your appeals for romance they acknowledge your hearts yearnings for love. They have received and answered your requests. Now you will work in concert with the angels to manifest the romance you are seeking. The angels guide you in specific ways to ensure that they grant you your wish. The angels guidance may ask you to engage in self improvement activities such as exercise classes or self help seminars. Follow this guidance and you will discover the romance you are seeking.
I love ROMANCE...bring it on!!!

Art Every Day Month Day 9 - Numbers

11 RULES FOR LIFE ONE - Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. TWO - Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. THREE - Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. FOUR -  When you say, "I love you," mean it. FIVE - When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. SIX - Be engaged at least six months before you get married. SEVEN - Believe in love at first sight. EIGHT - Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. NINE - Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. TEN - In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. ELEVEN - Don't judge people by their relatives. NUMBERS Numbers play a huge role in my life not one day goes past where I won't see sets of three or more numbers. It started at the clock I started s...

I Wanted to Be an Artist, So I Quit My Job and Became One

I had to share this article with you today, if I wrote something like this it would sound just the same... I Wanted to Be an Artist, So I Quit My Job and Became One by Christopher Fife. "Hi, I'm Christopher. I'm an artist." Exhale, run my fingers through my hair. "What do I do? Oh, I paint. I'm a painter. Yeah, I'm an artist." I tried it out every now and then, in front of the bathroom mirror. It sounded all right. But when I introduced myself as an artist outside my bathroom world of make-believe, I always felt false. I was like Magritte labeling a pipe. If I said I was an artist, I was an artist, right? Not exactly. Since I dedicated forty-plus hours a week to my corporate graphic design job, I was lucky if I painted a couple of hours a week. I came to despise myself for this self-deceit, for my inability to embrace what I really wanted to be. I wanted to be an artist. So I committed myself to becoming one. I started out like most people ...
