WINTER is here!!

For the past week it has been snowing on the mountain so it has been bloody cold here! I am a Summer girl and I like to always be warm, so I feel my brain hasn't been working as fast as it normally does.

It was Shaughan's sisters 40th birthday last Friday and we went to her house for a party. It was so much fun, I got to meet loads of new people and make new friends. I really feel blessed to have married into the Tizard family they are all such lovely kind people.

We headed out to the hot rod show, the weather was perfect! I was so impressed with all the colours of the cars, it made is so yummy walking around them. My favourite car was a Chevy but this orange coloured car was my favourite colour! I think Shaughan and I will have to buy a hot rod when we have a house with a shed! If you are interested in having a look at more of the cars I have put my photos in the gallery on http://www.wanganui.org/

We headed out to the beach later that afternoon and watched the sun go down. Living in Wanganui is such a great place to be! The next house we live in has to be close to the beach!!!!

Here is a slideshow of the paintings that are on a boat heading over to the UK to be sold.....

I'm organising a party for my man's birthday, it took me ages to think of a theme and I'm excited....everyone has to come dressed as their favourite musician, bring a song and an instrument. I went and delivered the invites last week and our friends have their thinking caps on, wondering what to come as. I wouldn't have a clue what I'm coming as yet because I have so many favourite musicians but I'm going to use the excuse to get my hair cut and coloured CRAZY STYLES!!! Any excuse for a bit of madness!!!

I can't believe that we are so close to July, man this year has gone so fast!!!

My message for today was: The truth shall cast away all your fears, as we gently guide you to look within with loving honesty.

On Saturday I took Mum, Ness, Leah and Achilles out for an hour, it was fun, Shaughan had bought a XR6 last weekend, I took them for a cruise to the gardens out Westmere, the chicken farm and then out for coffee. In the afternoon my good friend Rere came over for a coffee and we hung out which was nice. Rere has become a full time kindy teacher so I don't get to hang out with her as much now.

Shaughan swapped one of his cars for a Holden V8 on Tuesday. I haven't taken it for a spin yet but I'm sure I will love the power and noise! He really loves his cars!!!

We are thinking about doing my FXGT up and racing old Betty, I can't wait I'm such a petrol head at heart. Dad joined all us kids up with the car club when we were teenagers so every weekend we raced our cool old Angle Box until it over heated or we ran out of gas. The buzz you get from racing is just out of this world!!!

Yesterday we took down all the painting in the lounge and it has inspired me to paint the walls and do some new paintings for the room. I haven't been painting much I think it's because of the cold weather? So that will be a good mission for me for the week.

We have been having people up home for the rugby every Saturday night which has been fun, I'm not really into my rugby but I do enjoy having watching it with a good group of people. I do think the All Blacks are HOT!!!! hahahaha.
I can hear my man is about to get out of bed so I'm off to make him a coffee x x x x x

Art Every Day Month Day 9 - Numbers

11 RULES FOR LIFE ONE - Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. TWO - Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. THREE - Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. FOUR -  When you say, "I love you," mean it. FIVE - When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. SIX - Be engaged at least six months before you get married. SEVEN - Believe in love at first sight. EIGHT - Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. NINE - Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. TEN - In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. ELEVEN - Don't judge people by their relatives. NUMBERS Numbers play a huge role in my life not one day goes past where I won't see sets of three or more numbers. It started at the clock I started s...

I Wanted to Be an Artist, So I Quit My Job and Became One

I had to share this article with you today, if I wrote something like this it would sound just the same... I Wanted to Be an Artist, So I Quit My Job and Became One by Christopher Fife. "Hi, I'm Christopher. I'm an artist." Exhale, run my fingers through my hair. "What do I do? Oh, I paint. I'm a painter. Yeah, I'm an artist." I tried it out every now and then, in front of the bathroom mirror. It sounded all right. But when I introduced myself as an artist outside my bathroom world of make-believe, I always felt false. I was like Magritte labeling a pipe. If I said I was an artist, I was an artist, right? Not exactly. Since I dedicated forty-plus hours a week to my corporate graphic design job, I was lucky if I painted a couple of hours a week. I came to despise myself for this self-deceit, for my inability to embrace what I really wanted to be. I wanted to be an artist. So I committed myself to becoming one. I started out like most people ...
