I love our group...

Life has been pretty full on lately! Having Maddy start creche has been the biggest blessing as I have had 2 mornings a week to be me. Maddy loves creche she runs into the centre and doesn't want to leave when I pick her up.

Maddy ready for her first day at creche

Since January I have been hosting an artist salon through Skype. It started out as 6 artists from around the country and we have made it to the last session with 4 left standing. We have been working through 8 sessions based on the 'I'd Rather be in the Studio' by Alyson Stainfield. It is a pretty intense and a huge learning curve in many ways. Sometimes it has felt like information overload but we are coming out the other end with so much knowledge to get us to the next level in our careers. The best part for me is defiantly working together with with Deanna, Ronda and Diane! I would have been happy to read the book by myself but I wouldn't have got half as much out of it as I have with them by my side. We have one session left and have decided to keep meeting once a months to support each other with our goal setting. We also have a private facebook group set up where we can communicate with each other, share, and help out each other when we can.

Our first artist salon session on Skype.

For the past couple of weeks I have been cleaning up my website rewriting everything and all I need now is new photos of my artwork and I will be one happy girl!

Good-Bye Summer Family Ritual

For the past week I have been feeling the shift of seasons from summer into autumn. This has motivated me to c lean out closets, freshening up our home, make this summer photo collage, and created a family ritual. I find ritual really powerful it allows you the time to honour what has come before, say goodbye, and create intentions for what will come next. I've been poking around the internet and have found interesting articles on family summer rituals. Here are some of the suggestions I have read… Summertime is full of outdoor pursuits, so adding the outdoors into your ritual fits perfectly. Preserve summer fruits for the chilly months ahead. Engage in cooking or baking with summer ingredients. Shared a meal of seasonal food. Press summer flowers or herbs in books. Create a memory book of the past summer with photographs, ticket stubs, memorabilia, quotes, family jokes, poem, or anything else that reminds the family of fun times. Create a summer nature journal, detailing a

Art Every Day Month Day 7 - Encaustic Wax

I'm really enjoying blogging again, it's been years since I have written everyday. I used to do morning pages before I got pregnant, I have heaps of books full of my dribble. The Artist Way by Julia Cameron  got me into the morning pages! Every artist should own a copy of that book!  I was talking to a friend yesterday and she wanted me to order her a box of encaustic wax. I haven't done any encasutic for such a long time, so today was the day to dust off the cobwebs and get melting.  Here are my 2 creations for the day... Releasing my MADNESS!  Getting more into it without distractions Don't you love the texture wax makes! I have been looking for my cutter cause this card is too big and I just can't find it anywhere.  Here are some other pieces I have done, in the past with encaustic wax. This one was done with the iron on card. This one was done with the iron on card.  This one was done with the iron on card. This one was done with the iron on ca
