Happy Birthday Brenda!!!

It's my Grandmothers birthday today! I hope you have a very happy day Brenda x x x x x x.

We also had our little Zach turned 4 this week, he is so cute. I bought him some new clothes, he looks so handsome in them.

We have finally got an agreement to lease the building for another year which has been such a relief! It is really unsettling when you don't know what is happening with your home! I'm so over the moon my shoulders have started to relax and I have already started spending more money on the building, I have been making curtains to keep the cold winter night air out.

We have 2 artists moving into the studio this week and are still looking for another 2 to move in. It is a great space they have the gallery to use which is a bonus. This building is such a great place to be creative in!!!!

I got another 2 fish last week and have called them Sake and Goldie they are lovely. The first day I got them I couldn't see Sake and I found her stuck on the end of the filter tube. It was a horrible moment, I didn't think she would be alive the next day but she recovered form her shock and is fine. I moved the tank into my studio so I can watch them while I work, it took me all day, I love it!!!

All my paintings are ready for their journey to the UK, it's very exciting!!! I glossed a couple of them and forgot to wear my mask and ended up feeling very weary all day.

Maka and I spent the day cruising around the city on Wednesday and I found a pile of old Opera records in a second hand shop. I snapped them up and have been listening to the Hansel and Gretel opera non stop. It is going to be here in Wanganui in June I'm going!! I bet I will sit there crying as I have never been to an opera before and have always wanted to sing opera. Maybe the time is right to get started?

Lots of beautiful things are happening in Wanganui at the moment we have the Maori New Year coming up with loads of events to go to and it seemed every shop window I looked at, on my walk up the Ave, I found different events coming up. Rock on Wanganui!!!! http://www.wanganui.org/

I think in my last blog I had written about a body that was found in the building out the back, it was thought to be suspicious. Once they had done the postmortem they found out that he wasn't murdered! I was happy to read that article!!! I can remember asking my Dad are there really people out there that are evil? I couldn't understand how anyone would want to hurt anyone else. He said 'yes and to be careful!'

My music clip for the day is funny it's about having a Tui in Wanganui.....

My message for the day was: Pain is a time deceiver, covering the holes in your schedule that ache to be devoted towards your life's purpose.

Art Every Day Month Day 13 - Basic Colour Theory

An understanding of the basics of colour theory is essential for every artist and increases the possibilities for your work. Colours are, after all, one of the basic tools of painting. Here are some of the things I have learnt. The Colour Wheel Most color wheels are based on three primary colours, three secondary colours, and the six intermediates formed by mixing a primary with a secondary, known as tertiary colours, for a total of 12 main divisions; some add more intermediates, for 24 named colors like this one.  Primary colours:  Are the three colours that cannot be created by mixing other colours together  - red, yellow, and blue. Secondary colours:  A secondary colour is made by mixing two primary colours together: red and yellow to get orange, yellow and blue to get green, or red and blue to get purple. The secondary colour depends on the proportion in which you mix the two primaries. For example, if you add more red than yellow, you get a reddish orange,...
