Wednesday 7th November

I had a lovely phone call from Coke one of the people on the course last Saturday. She wanted to buy this painting "Always" for her husband. It's nice to start the day with having a phone call like this!

Oh I also had another wonderful phone call, Gwennie rang me from England which was so great. We talked away for about an hour, man my ear was hot when I hung up. She is happy as and hopefully she will pop over for a holiday next year. I really want to go and visit here in the next few years too! She was telling me about all sorts of things she has been up to and I can't wait to go and see them with my own eyes! Love you Gwennie x

It really was a busy day with lots of things happening. I have 2 new artists, Ixia and Azarn on www.paintpit.com they both come from France.

I spent loads of time playing with facebook it's such a cool website! The thing I like about it the most is that it is for your friends. Myspace is great for meeting people but facebook is great to find friends. Plus it has heaps of cool stuff to play with!

My friend Rere has just started her job with Open Studios and they have asked me to be a trustee I am keen and am waiting to hear back what this will involve. I do have a pretty busy life and if I was to do this I would want to know that I would have time to give it 100%.

It's our no TV night, I can't remember if I wrote about our Wednesday night lucky dip tin? We sat down and came up with about 50 fun things to do on a Wednesday night and last week we pulled for tonight 'Invite 2 people each to come up for a 3 course meal'. We both chose people who had never been here before and I'm looking forward to having a big cook up this afternoon.

I have been painting some new work for the exhibition and I'm so happy with them. It's nice when you find something that works for you. I think Cracked Pepper is going to look fabulous when we open the exhibition.

My message for the day was: God's thoughts of love created us. Since the creator's loving thoughts are unlimited, there is an unlimited number of angels.

Mum has just popped up and has fixed a top for me, thank you Mum! Vanessa and I are so lucky to have her!

Right I better get a wiggle on.

Have a fantastic day. x

Art Every Day Month Day 13 - Basic Colour Theory

An understanding of the basics of colour theory is essential for every artist and increases the possibilities for your work. Colours are, after all, one of the basic tools of painting. Here are some of the things I have learnt. The Colour Wheel Most color wheels are based on three primary colours, three secondary colours, and the six intermediates formed by mixing a primary with a secondary, known as tertiary colours, for a total of 12 main divisions; some add more intermediates, for 24 named colors like this one.  Primary colours:  Are the three colours that cannot be created by mixing other colours together  - red, yellow, and blue. Secondary colours:  A secondary colour is made by mixing two primary colours together: red and yellow to get orange, yellow and blue to get green, or red and blue to get purple. The secondary colour depends on the proportion in which you mix the two primaries. For example, if you add more red than yellow, you get a reddish orange,...

Art Every Day Month Day 9 - Numbers

11 RULES FOR LIFE ONE - Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. TWO - Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. THREE - Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. FOUR -  When you say, "I love you," mean it. FIVE - When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. SIX - Be engaged at least six months before you get married. SEVEN - Believe in love at first sight. EIGHT - Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. NINE - Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. TEN - In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. ELEVEN - Don't judge people by their relatives. NUMBERS Numbers play a huge role in my life not one day goes past where I won't see sets of three or more numbers. It started at the clock I started s...

Art Every Day Month Day 5 - A mellow day for me.

Last night I was thought it would be fun to do different things everyday, to keep my blog interesting. I had high hopes of doing my creativity outside today but because of a snotty nose and sore eyes, I won't be venturing out there. I am going to keep it pretty simple today and create fractals. What is a fractal? A  fractal  is "a rough or fragmented  geometric shape  that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole," [1]  a property called  self-similarity . Roots of mathematically rigorous treatment of fractals can be traced back to functions studied by  Karl Weierstrass ,  Georg Cantor  and  Felix Hausdorff  in studying functions that were  continuous  but not  differentiable ; however, the term fractal  was coined by  BenoĆ®t Mandelbrot  in 1975 and was derived from the  Latin   fractus  meaning "brok...
