Read Art Magazines

I know what sort of person I am without a shower in the morning...GRUMPY!! Oh I hope the plummer comes tomorrow to get the shower up and running so I don't feel like I did today! It really doesn't help with the heat making me all sticky YUCK!! Nothing like a bit of extra housework to get even hotter and smellier. The house might smell lovely and clean but I can assure you I don't.

I stayed up late last night painting. Here is what I did (not the best photo) before I managed to tear myself away for some sleep....


It was a colourful painting until I got the red paint out LOL! I might add a bit of colour and some gold into the painting tonight? I'm doing this painting just for me so that in times, when I'm feeling a tad low, I can read it and hopefully pick myself back up instantly. I'm finding it hard living in a small town to keep my enthusiasm high. I must need a holiday in the big city for a dose of buzzy vibes, good friends and excitement of alive happy people.  




My bit of art advice for the day - Read Art Magazines
Whenever I read an art magazine I find at least one important item to add to my store of information. These magazines bring an overview of the whole art world right into your studio and they are full of the kinds of facts and opinions that will keep you up-to-date. Even the advertising in these magazines can help you determine what kind of work interests art consultants, private dealers, galleries, and museums. The editorials and feature articles keep you apprised of new opportunities as well as the names of key players at various institutions.
Be sure to read art magazines that are specific to your work, whether it is painting, prints, sculpture, or photography. And don't neglect the many newsletters in your field. I have subscribed to many newsletters over the years and have managed to whittle them down to only receiving newsletters that are interesting to me.
By reading you will keep up with art events and active artists, dealers, and museums in your area.
National and international art publications keep you connected throughout the world, without your having to travel to major cities.

this is my favourite card from the Goddess pack so I was really pleased to see her come up. I wrote to the artist who painted this picture in 2005 and asked her how much the original painting was, it was in my price range, I'm not sure why I didn't buy it, maybe I should contact her again? 

The card said....your wisdom extends back into the far reaches of ancient times. You've brought this knowledge forward into present incarnation, to be a way-shower so that others may benefit from your experiences. Don't delay in expressing this wisdom. I will assist you in manifesting platforms for your spiritual teaching, whether it's through writing or speaking. All forms of teaching are equally valuable, no matter how many lives you touch.

Great idea for your painting Denita. It is ALWAYS a good thing to have positive affirmations around you. Our brain can tend to be a wee bit negative at times!

Art Every Day Month Day 5 - A mellow day for me.

Last night I was thought it would be fun to do different things everyday, to keep my blog interesting. I had high hopes of doing my creativity outside today but because of a snotty nose and sore eyes, I won't be venturing out there. I am going to keep it pretty simple today and create fractals.
