Sunday 21st October

This is Wilson he is such a spunk!

One of the best holidays I have had was in the Pacific Islands crusing around all the Islands. It has infulenced my work a lot and if I had to choose a subject that was my favourite to paint it would Pacific style. I would love to live there and would be very happy living in a home on a white sandy beach. I love the rawness of the Island lifestyle.
I found all the art work I saw there was special as I don't think the artists had lessons on how to paint and they were painting from the heart. I find paintings with spirit just have that little bit extra more!

For the past few days I have been drawing on a black pad with gold pen and I'm really happy with them and hope to use the drawings in my paintings. I thought it might be nice to enter them into the wanganui review next year as something different. I have also been thinking about entering a photo.

Last night we got woken up again by the boys downstairs this time it wasn't by music they had a big rumble and it sounded like a bull in a china shop. Swearing and screaming for about 20 mins, not a nice way to be woken up in the middle of the night. I wish the landlord would just find someone else to rent the space out to.
I went and picked up Zac yesterday and took him for a drive in the car he thought it was Lighting McQueen, it was so cute. We went to the market and they had a brass band playing so we had a wee boggie it was a great morning.
It was a rainy cold day and I did some work on www.wanganui.org it looking great! And I was looking for new games for the site and got hooked on Family Feud and Jewel Quest Solitaire it was fun just to zone out for an hour! I also checked my facebook space and spent about 2 hours crusing around the site, it's got so much to do. One of my friends that I met in ChCh had posted new photos and having not seen her for over 10 years, it was so nice to check them out. She still seems the bubble fun girl I remember! I was thinking about how cool all these webspaces were for communication. I don't think I would have ever bumped into some of my friends in Wanganui the way I have over the net, it is great to be in contact so easliy. It sure has made living in a small town easier!
I just found another few art site to join www.artwanted.com and www.artifolio.com and I have been playing with www.freewebs.com what a choice place that is.
Anyway we are off to pick another car up so I better get in the shower and get cracking. I think I will go visit some of my school friends today?
Love and Light x

Art Every Day Month Day 9 - Numbers

11 RULES FOR LIFE ONE - Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. TWO - Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. THREE - Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. FOUR -  When you say, "I love you," mean it. FIVE - When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. SIX - Be engaged at least six months before you get married. SEVEN - Believe in love at first sight. EIGHT - Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. NINE - Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. TEN - In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. ELEVEN - Don't judge people by their relatives. NUMBERS Numbers play a huge role in my life not one day goes past where I won't see sets of three or more numbers. It started at the clock I started s...

I Wanted to Be an Artist, So I Quit My Job and Became One

I had to share this article with you today, if I wrote something like this it would sound just the same... I Wanted to Be an Artist, So I Quit My Job and Became One by Christopher Fife. "Hi, I'm Christopher. I'm an artist." Exhale, run my fingers through my hair. "What do I do? Oh, I paint. I'm a painter. Yeah, I'm an artist." I tried it out every now and then, in front of the bathroom mirror. It sounded all right. But when I introduced myself as an artist outside my bathroom world of make-believe, I always felt false. I was like Magritte labeling a pipe. If I said I was an artist, I was an artist, right? Not exactly. Since I dedicated forty-plus hours a week to my corporate graphic design job, I was lucky if I painted a couple of hours a week. I came to despise myself for this self-deceit, for my inability to embrace what I really wanted to be. I wanted to be an artist. So I committed myself to becoming one. I started out like most people ...
