Art Every Day Month Day 4 - Painting

My creativity for the night is putting together a video 'A few pieces of my day'. It was a strange day, I had a bird fly inside and smash into the window before falling on my desk. Thank God Shaughan was home and he came to the rescue. Over the past week since the passing of our beloved dog Ralph, this place has become a bird magnet. We have always had lots of birds around but they are getting out of control! I also had to chase 2 ducks out of the house today, cheeky buggers!

Here is my video clip....

....and a few photos.

Maddy loved painting today!

The finished master finger painting

The painting from last night looks better today in the sunlight.

I was reading Alyson Stanfield's blog about change and she asked 4 questions about work life:

Is it fun?
Is it a challenge?
Am I learning anything?
Am I working too hard and not smart enough?

I have to answer YES to all of them. Yes I have to work on being smarter instead of working harder.

The Youtube clip of the of the day is Save the Arts! David Shrigley's animation. Thanks to 'icanrbreff' for sharing it with me today....

My card for the day was POWER OF JOY

.I had to take a photo as he is such a happy dude, I have a happy Buddha in my studio.

It said...As you allow compassion into your life, love's healing power ensures that everyone's needs are met harmoniously. Leave the details to how this situation will be resolved to the infinite wisdom of Spirit.

I have had something on my mind today and it reassures me that I just have to trust that it will all happen at the right time.

I loved the joy I saw in your daughter, and her freedom in expression.
When I saw the driving on the left side, it reminded me of an experience when we were in NZ. My dad was driving on the left for the first time. We were on our way to Australia, where my dad had an exchange pastorate with a minister from a suburb of Melbourne. My mom was very nervous about him driving on the "wrong side" of the road, and she kept saying "Ted, if I tell the children to look at something, don't look--keep your eyes on the road!"

Good-Bye Summer Family Ritual

For the past week I have been feeling the shift of seasons from summer into autumn. This has motivated me to c lean out closets, freshening up our home, make this summer photo collage, and created a family ritual. I find ritual really powerful it allows you the time to honour what has come before, say goodbye, and create intentions for what will come next. I've been poking around the internet and have found interesting articles on family summer rituals. Here are some of the suggestions I have read… Summertime is full of outdoor pursuits, so adding the outdoors into your ritual fits perfectly. Preserve summer fruits for the chilly months ahead. Engage in cooking or baking with summer ingredients. Shared a meal of seasonal food. Press summer flowers or herbs in books. Create a memory book of the past summer with photographs, ticket stubs, memorabilia, quotes, family jokes, poem, or anything else that reminds the family of fun times. Create a summer nature journal, detailing a
