Art Every Day Month Day 5 - A mellow day for me.

Last night I was thought it would be fun to do different things everyday, to keep my blog interesting. I had high hopes of doing my creativity outside today but because of a snotty nose and sore eyes, I won't be venturing out there. I am going to keep it pretty simple today and create fractals.

What is a fractal?

fractal is "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole,"[1] a property called self-similarity. Roots of mathematically rigorous treatment of fractals can be traced back to functions studied by Karl WeierstrassGeorg Cantor and Felix Hausdorff in studying functions that were continuous but not differentiable; however, the termfractal was coined by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975 and was derived from the Latin fractus meaning "broken" or "fractured." A mathematical fractal is based on an equation that undergoes iteration, a form of feedback based on recursion.[2] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal

Here are my creations for the day

Elephants walking

Warmth

Brightening up your day

This one reminds me of a balanket we have.

If you want to give it a go, this link is to the best generator I have found so far:  http://www.fractalposter.com/fractal_generator.php ENJOY!

The Youtube clip of the day is a 104 YEAR OLD FILM CLIP "you are there" for a cable car ride in San Francisco ". This  film was "lost" for many years.  It was the first 35mm film ever.  It was taken by camera mounted on the front  of a cable car. The number of automobiles is staggering for 1906. Absolutely  amazing!

My card for the day is Drink more water. Considering we are full of snot this card is very appropriate for us, drink lots of water and flush out the bugs.

Hi Denita
Just wanted to thank you for coming over to my blog. I think your fractals are great. The elephants are really clever, but my favourite is 'Brightening up your day'. X
These are so cool!!! I love the elephants walking.

If this is what you call mellow...so I can imagine what you would do at full speed...☺ Beautiful!

When a crystal (stone) breaks, you can see the same phenomena with out much technological information or tools. I have done jewellery and seen many stones break :)
