Art Every Day Month Day 8 - Writing

My card for the day was WRITE

It said...You drew this card as a concrete reminder to write. You've been receiving lots of signals and feelings to write lately, so let this card be the message that leads you to take action. Get out your pad of paper or your laptop computer and begin to writing. Don't worry about punctuation, grammar or spelling, as you can take care of those details later. For now just express your thoughts and feelings as they flow into your mind and body.

Therefore my creativity day 8 is writing. I have always wanted to write about growing up but didn't really want to do it as I hate talking about my past. Yesterday I was reading a page out of The Creativity Book by Eric Maisel it said.....
So I have started writing it and am already up to 2194 words. Since I don't have anything to show for todays creativity I thought I would post a poem that we wrote.

The Tale of Humma and Mush

This is a story with a happy beginning,
Of a couple of hearts that needed winning.

One was huge taking lots of space,
And one was old and lacking pace.

Both hearts were kind and giving,
And both thought that nothing was missing!

A fateful day some years ago
changed all of this, as you well know.

The two hearts bumped, and started a flow
Of happy times destine to grow.

And in this time, two birds in this bush
became the legend of Humma and Mush.

So which is which, you might ask,
But that’s too easy, this is your task.

We will say this, and this is a clue,
One is a sexy mama and the other uses no shampoo.

They moved into a dirty old club
and made it a home instead of a pub.

They filled it with up with a horse and a rat
(Not really, it’s just a dog and a cat).

They even took the plunge and got wed
And here‘s another hint, Mush wore red.

Now Humma and Mush were King and Queen
and dominated their little town and the whole art scene.

They ruled with passion and pride
(and ruled the noobs that came inside).

The couple are now in the mood for a change
for a breath of fresh air and a home on the range.

They view the future with hope and faith
And know that God will keep them safe.

Humma and Mush.

Good-Bye Summer Family Ritual

For the past week I have been feeling the shift of seasons from summer into autumn. This has motivated me to c lean out closets, freshening up our home, make this summer photo collage, and created a family ritual. I find ritual really powerful it allows you the time to honour what has come before, say goodbye, and create intentions for what will come next. I've been poking around the internet and have found interesting articles on family summer rituals. Here are some of the suggestions I have read… Summertime is full of outdoor pursuits, so adding the outdoors into your ritual fits perfectly. Preserve summer fruits for the chilly months ahead. Engage in cooking or baking with summer ingredients. Shared a meal of seasonal food. Press summer flowers or herbs in books. Create a memory book of the past summer with photographs, ticket stubs, memorabilia, quotes, family jokes, poem, or anything else that reminds the family of fun times. Create a summer nature journal, detailing a

Art Every Day Month Day 7 - Encaustic Wax

I'm really enjoying blogging again, it's been years since I have written everyday. I used to do morning pages before I got pregnant, I have heaps of books full of my dribble. The Artist Way by Julia Cameron  got me into the morning pages! Every artist should own a copy of that book!  I was talking to a friend yesterday and she wanted me to order her a box of encaustic wax. I haven't done any encasutic for such a long time, so today was the day to dust off the cobwebs and get melting.  Here are my 2 creations for the day... Releasing my MADNESS!  Getting more into it without distractions Don't you love the texture wax makes! I have been looking for my cutter cause this card is too big and I just can't find it anywhere.  Here are some other pieces I have done, in the past with encaustic wax. This one was done with the iron on card. This one was done with the iron on card.  This one was done with the iron on card. This one was done with the iron on ca
